Here's our round up of the midweek action around League One. South Coast Club are closing in on an automatic promotion place following a 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic at St Mary's. Guly in the 11th minute and Barnard in the 58th set the Saints up for the win, which leaves them 2-points off a top-2 spot with 2 matches in hand. South Coast Club 3rd, Charlton Athletic 12th. Peterborough United maintained their automatic promotion hopes with a 2-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge at Victoria Road. A Ball brace in the 3rd and 8th minutes was enough to secure the win. Dagenham & Redbridge 21st, Peterborough United 4th. AFC Bournemouth saw their run without a win extended to 6 matches following a 1-0 defeat against Bristol Rovers at The Memorial Ground. The only goal of the game came in the 33rd minute when Hughes scored from the penalty spot. Bristol Rovers 19th, AFC Bournemouth 6th. Rochdale are edging closer to a play-off place with a 2-1 win against Notts County at Meadow Lane. Dawson (7th min) and Atkinson (15th min) set Dale up nicely before Hughes pulled one back in the 54th minute. Notts County 20th, Rochdale 7th. After a recent wobble Leyton Orient got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over troubled Plymouth Argyle at Brisbane Road. Goals from McGleish (4th min) and Cox (13th min) was enough to secure the win. Leyton Orient 8th, Plymouth Argyle 24th. It was a good night at the office for Sheffield Wednesday as they saw off Tranmere Rovers at Hillsborough with a convincing 4-0 win. Miller netted a brace in the 10th and 22nd mins (the latter coming from the penalty spot), with Madine netting in the 14th minute. Mellor put the icing on the cake in the 92nd minute. Sheffield Wednesday 15th, Tranmere Rovers 18th.
