The relegation issues from the Championship are now fully resolved, and one side coming up from League Two is now known.

Firstly, congratulations to Swindon Town on their immediate return to League One after one season away in League Two. Their return was confirmed despite a 3-1 defeat against Gillingham at Priestfield. The Gills took a 2-goal lead through Kedwell (26th min) and Whelpdale (52nd min), with McCormack reducing the arrears in the 81st minute. The result was put beyond doubt when Whelpdale netted for a 2nd time in the 90th minute. With Crawley Town and Torquay United dropping points in their matches, meant that Swindon Town were elevated back to the 3rd tier.

Following last weekends relegation of Doncaster Rovers, they duely dragged Coventry City sown with then as Rovers sealed a 2-0 win over the Sky Blues at the Ricoh Arena when Hayter (81st min penalty) and Gillett (87th min) netted the goals to take City with them.

Coming down to League One are Portsmouth, who lost at home to Derby County at Fratton Park. Buxton gave the Rams the lead in the 41st minute, with Varney levelling in the 74th only to see Davies score the winner from the penalty spot in the 78th minute.

To be fair though, Bristiol City's 2-0 win over Barnsley, as Ashton Gate, sealed the fate to Coventry and Portsmouth regardless of the outcomes in the West Midlands or Fratton Park.
