Two more participants in next seasons League One was confirmed on Saturday. League One may have had a southern-feel about it in 2010/11, but 2011/12 will have a more northern flavour about it as 2 more northern clubs were confirmed for life in the 3rd tier following their relegation from the Championship. Scunthorpe United were thumped 5-1 by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground to confirm their relegation. Goals from Boyd (9th and 90th mins), Chambers (25th and 82nd mins) and Anderson (48th min) only drew a consolation from O'Connor (36th min pen) to condemn Scunny to the drop. Following them are Sheffield United who could only draw 2-2 with Barnsley at Bramell Lane. Haynes gave Barnsley the lead in the 15th minute, only to see Lowton (39th min) and Williamson (59th min) give the Blades hope. That was snuffed out when Haynes completed his brace with 6 minutes left on the watch. The 3rd and final automatic promotion place from League Two is down to Wycombe Wanderers and Shrewsbury Town who face Southend United and Oxford United (both at home) respectively on the final day of the season.
