Callum Wilson praised Bournemouth's 'unsung heroes' after the striker scored his fifth of the season in Saturday's landmark victory over 10-man Sunderland.
The 23-year-old scored inside four minutes as the Cherries recorded their first home win in the Premier League - with the second goal a stunning volley from Matt Ritchie.
Sunderland were never in the game but will feel aggrieved to have seen a legitimate Jeremain Lens header wrongly ruled out for offside before Younes Kaboul was sent off for a second yellow card.
The France defender had been given the runaround all afternoon by Wilson, who turned him for the first goal before drawing the two fouls that saw the former Tottenham man dismissed.
Wilson's strike was his fifth Premier League goal of the season, making him the division's top scorer, but he was keen to share the spotlight with his team-mates after they bounced back from a disappointing defeat to fellow promoted side Norwich a week earlier.
"The main thing today was how we reacted to last week's performance," he said.
"To start how we did really showed our intent and when you get early goals the confidence just oozes from you.
"Obviously I get a lot of plaudits because my name is the one that goes down as the goalscorer but there are a lot of unsung heroes in this team. They deserve every bit of the credit as well."
Wilson scored in Bournemouth's home draw with Leicester with a creative overhead kick but even he conceded Ritchie's ninth-minute strike, which saw him control a clearance on his chest before unleashing a volley past Costel Pantilimon, was the more memorable effort.
"Matt's goal was ridiculous," he added.
"When you score a goal like that people have to take note and give you credit. It'll be up there for goal of the season, I am sure.
"It blows my goal against Leicester out the water and I'll have to go back to the drawing board now!"
While the result will be remembered on the south coast, Sunderland will want to move on quickly as the defeat dropped them to the foot of the table.
Dick Advocaat's side have taken just two points from their opening six league games and sit below rivals Newcastle due to an inferior goal difference.
Midfielder Jack Rodwell was introduced at half-time at the Vitality Stadium as the Black Cats enjoyed a better second half.
Following a close-fought 1-0 defeat at home to Tottenham last Sunday, Rodwell wanted another good display but was left admitting the team are struggling to progress at present having narrowly avoided relegation last year.
"We needed to take the momentum into the game today and it didn't happen," he said.
"It is one step forward and two steps back at the moment - we have got to keep plugging away and there are those two big games coming up.
"We started badly and didn't recover. We were just off the pace and second to every ball - we tried to get going a little bit but it was one of those days."
Sunderland's week does not get any easier as they host Manchester City in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday before visiting Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.
Despite the challenging double-header, former City man Rodwell believes the two games against the Manchester giants can help alleviate the tension around the Stadium of Light.
"We have got to pick ourselves up now, we have got two big games coming this week," he said.
"We have no time to dwell but that is a good thing really and we can bounce back as much as we can. Hopefully we will do something good.
"We can go in with no pressure on us, they are expected to win these games but we can go out there and show what we can do, we have a good squad of players and we just need to show it on the pitch."
