Howe: We`ll pick ourselves up

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe felt his side could have stolen a point with their improved display after the break in a 1-0 defeat at Charlton. Akpo Sodje's strike was enough to earn the Addicks maximum points, despite Jose Semedo being sent off with half an hour remaining. The Cherries threw caution to the wind in search of an equaliser, and Howe said: "I think it was a game of two halves for us. "In the first half we didn't turn up and we were slow out of the traps. In the second half we were a lot better, and even before the sending-off I thought we were a lot brighter. "On another day, with the chances we had, we could perhaps have nicked something, but we need to improve on that first-half display. We did look better with two up top in the second half. "We weren't brave in the first half in terms of getting on the ball, we were waiting for things to happen. We didn't hurt them at all or get our wide men in the game and ultimately they could have been more than one up. "I thought they looked strong and we couldn't cope with them in the first half. We've got to pick ourselves up because this is a hard place to come."
