Howe takes the positives

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe was keen to pick out the positives after his side fell to a 4-0 friendly defeat against Tottenham. The Cherries were outclassed by the Premier League outfit and although Howe concedes there is room for improvement, he was pleased with the potential on show. "It was a really useful game from our point of view, most of the lads had 45 minutes under their belt, a couple had a little more time," Howe told the club's official website. "I thought Tottenham were excellent and that we played our part at times and there was a lot of promise there. "It's difficult fielding two teams against a side with the quality of Tottenham, because they had internationals, who are all comfortable on the ball and have great movement off it, and you can see why they are where they are. "It was good for us to play against them and learn a lot from the game and I'm sure we will improve as pre-season progresses."
