Howe salutes his walking wounded

Howe was forced to name a squad that included two players struggling for fitness - he was only able to name three substitutes - but the home side hit the crossbar twice and enjoyed the majority of possession.

Howe said: "Liam Feeney played with a thigh injury and Ryan Garry had not trained for two weeks because of illness. The squad is stretched to the limit.

"But the lads showed enormous character to put in another good performance. This is a tough place to come and it is a good point.

"We had to show a lot of character and we did do."
