Howe prefers being top to bottom

The south-coast club overcame the odds in wiping out a 17-point deduction and preserving their Football League status at the end of last term. Cherries manager Howe is now enjoying life at the top after a 3-1 victory over Lincoln put Bournemouth two points clear at the League Two summit. But although Sammy Igoe's double and a Brett Pitman strike now have Bournemouth sitting pretty, Howe is refusing to get carried away. "We'll enjoy being at the top and I would rather have the pressure of staying there than what we went through last season," said Howe. "We played under the most extreme pressure last season as our Football League place was under threat. "It's nice being at the top and it's still early in the season to read anything from it, and the table is still taking shape."
