Howe happy with Cherries defending

Having beaten Bury and Rotherham already, the Cherries have yet to concede a goal and have made their best start to a season for 11 years. "Neither side played well and it was a mixed performance but we got our reward for a lot of hard work. We defended resolutely and the players got what they deserved," said Howe. "Aldershot were always going to cause us a problem with their formation and in the last 10 minutes we were clinging on a bit." Jason Pearce scored the only goal, rising to head home Brett Pitman's free-kick three minutes into the second half.
