Hollands was handed the skipper's armband when Shaun Cooper was ruled out for six months due to hip surgery, but the midfielder been told to rest by a London specialist if he is to have a chance of leading the side out on August 8 at Bury. Howe is anxious to get his star man back into action but is adamant that his side will be able to cope should the 23-year-old lose his injury battle. "I think it's going to be tough for him (Hollands) for the first game, but we're playing it by ear and seeing how he gets on over the next week or so," Howe told the Bournemouth Echo. "He's one of our key players and losing him and Shaun Cooper, potentially, would come as a double whammy. "But all we can do is play on regardless. The lads showed against Fulham that we have got enough quality to cover, but we need the (injured) lads back to full fitness quickly, otherwise the squad is looking a bit light."
