Hollands: Cherries sticking together

04 February 2010 05:05
The Cherries, who avoided relegation out of the Football League last season despite a 17-point deduction, have been under a transfer embargo for the last year.

And despite managing with a threadbare squad that has been struck by injuries, manager Eddie Howe has guided his side to an amazing run of form this term that sees them currently occupy second spot.

"As players, it just gets our backs up that we aren't allowed to bring in other players. But as a squad, we are trying to make sure we become stronger and better for it," Hollands told the Bournemouth Echo.

"We've been through a lot in the past few years and it has made us stronger as a group. This (transfer embargo) is another hurdle that we are determined to overcome.

"We are desperate to achieve something as a group. Our focus is to put something on the board."
