Got To Take The Positives

The Cherries have got to take the positives from the draw against Huddersfield Town, despite dropping points. With late goals costing the Cherries valuable points in the race for promotion, the management team, and the squad, are taking the positives from the Huddersfield Town match at the weekend. Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Lee Bradbury is quoted as saying: "It was two points dropped but I thought the lads were brilliant. They performed excellently, were resilient and really hard working. I thought we deserved three points. The way we approached the game and the way we worked was excellent. We had a few chances and they only had the one shot on target. On another day, we could have scored two or three. We had a few half-chances and they took their only chance. We have got to learn and have got to be tougher to beat. But to a man, I thought we defended excellently. It was testament to the lads the way they felt that we only got a point against Huddersfield. If anybody had walked into our changing room at the end, they would have thought we had lost because the lads were really despondent. I have told them they have done everyone proud ever since we took over. They can’t be too negative and have got to take the positives because we were the better side". Central defender, Shaun Cooper was quoted after the match as saying: "It has happened a few times. We couldn’t do anything about the Leyton Orient goal. I believed it was lucky, although some people said he meant it. On Saturday, in the build-up to the goal more than anything, there were a few incidents quite a while before the actual goal happened that were avoidable because we have looked back and seen it. But as a collective, we have got to spot these things and we can’t make the same mistakes again. It is a lesson learned. We have learned from the ones we have made in the past and we will learn from this and kick on".
