Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has revealed a training ground injury to Jonathan Franks has scuppered a proposed loan move to Bournemouth. Franks only returned to action last month following a back operation, but the 20-year-old forward has suffered another blow after turning an ankle in training on Sunday. Mowbray told the club's official website: "They asked the question and I had a conversation with him about it. He was in the squad for Saturday so nothing was going to be decided until the start of this week. "But he's got injured in a training session and he's gone for a scan, so is he going to Bournemouth? No." Franks, a former England youth international, is set to undergo scans to determine the full extent of the injury.
