Bournemouth's veteran striker Steve Fletcher paid tribute to Danny Hollands and felt the Cherries were back to their best in their 2-1 home win over Notts County. Hollands scored twice in the opening 35 minutes to put the Cherries on course for three points which cut League Two leaders Rochdale's advantage to three points. It was Bournemouth's first home win of the year and rekindled their automatic promotion prospects. Fletcher said: "That's the best we've played in over a year - a total contrast to Saturday's goalless draw with Cheltenham Town - and we were really up for it. "Danny was magnificent and could have scored four times in the first 20 minutes. "But so too was our defence. We took our foot off the gas in the second half - something you don't dare do against a side of County's calibre - and we were glad to hear the final whistle because they battered us in the second half."
