19 June 2013 19:03
The day all Cherries fans have been waiting for has arrived - the League fixtures have been announced.

The waiting is over, the fixtures for the new Championship season have been released, with AFC Bournemouth included in this set of fixtures for the first time in a generation.

For the third time in four seasons, the Cherries start (on August 3rd) with a game against Charlton Athletic. This time it's a home fixture where as the previous two opening day encounters saw the Cherries visit SE London on the opening day.

The first away match of the League campaign is a week later against Watford, who missed out on promotion to the Premiership in the play-off final last season.

The full set of fixtures can be poured over via the Clubs Official Web Site, but a few of the key fixtures are listed below.

Of particular interest will be games against Reading, which used to be a regular occurrence until 2001/02 when both clubs went on their separate ways. The Cherries slipping down the divisions, while Reading went the other way. The side relegated from the Premiership host AFC Bournemouth on December 7th, while the return fixture will be played out on April 8th.

Former Cherries boss, Harry Redknapp, will be hosting his former club at Loftus Road on December 3rd, while Dean Court will welcome Harry as an opposition manager on April 5th.

South Coast rivalries with Brighton & Hove Albion will be rekindled this season, at another new venue to see the Seagulls who are now in the slightly better accommodation than our last trip to play them at Withdean. The Cherries host first on November 30th, while the return fixture is scheduled for New Years Day.

Christmas will see the Cherries host Yeovil Town (Dec 26th) and Ipswich Town (Dec 29th), while at Easter the Cherries host Sheffield Wednesday (April 19) and head to Suffolk to play Ipswich Town two days later on Easter Monday.

As for end of season ....... it's Millwall on May 3rd.
