Eddie Howe waits for news on key Bournemouth duo

Boss Eddie Howe admits he is sweating on injuries to a key duo following Bournemouth's victory at West Brom.

The Cherries beat the nine-man Baggies 2-1 at The Hawthorns on Saturday to record a third straight triumph.

But Junior Stanislas suffered a hamstring problem during the game while Josh King had to be replaced by Glenn Murray before kick-off after injuring his hamstring in the warm-up.

Albion's James McClean was sent off for a rash first-half tackle on Adam Smith while Salomon Rondon saw red for clashing with Dan Gosling as Smith and Charlie Daniels' late penalty won it for the visitors.

Howe said: "We lost Josh King in the warm-up, that was a huge blow to the way we play. Junior felt something in his hamstring. We hope we haven't picked up two serious injuries and we were pleased to see Smithy get up from that dangerous tackle.

"King just felt his hamstring. He had his hamstring scanned after last week and there was no problem so I'm just surprised he felt something in there. We are hopeful it's not long term."

Victory followed the Cherries' wins over Manchester United and Chelsea and left them five points above the Barclays Premier League bottom three despite Gareth McAuley's equaliser before Daniels' penalty.

The Baggies saw their four-match unbeaten run end and Chris Brunt, James Morrison and Darren Fletcher reported sick before the game and, despite requesting to play, all came off during the defeat.

Boss Tony Pulis added: " We started flat but we had four or five players who turned up who had been sick during the night.

"The doc had them in but they wanted to play given how well things had gone for us last week.

"It was the three I brought off who weren't well but they all wanted to play."
