Eddie Howe revels in Bournemouth's win at West Brom

Boss Eddie Howe hailed Bournemouth's huge win at West Brom after they recorded a third straight victory.

The Cherries bagged a late 2-1 win at the nine-man Baggies after Charlie Daniels' penalty with three minutes left.

James McClean and Salomon Rondon were both sent off for the hosts with McClean dismissed after just 34 minutes and Rondon following at the death.

Adam Smith opened the scoring for Bournemouth, who are 14th and five points above the Barclays Premier League drop zone after victories over Albion, Manchester United and Chelsea.

Howe said: "Whenever you come here, to get three points, under the conditions you are faced with, it is a huge three points and take nothing away from the lads.

"The fact it was against 10 men doesn't really change their threat from set pieces. It is a great win for us. It was hard to create chances first half - anyone who sees us consistently will say we are a side that creates more chances than today.

"Personally I thought it (McClean) was a red card. They came together just seconds before that tackle and James just lost his head a little bit and seemed to go over the ball from my angle so I wasn't surprised when the red card came out.

"It (Rondon) was a silly one really. Both players came together and I'm pleased my lads kept their cool and control. The referee had a very good view is what I'll say.

"The only disappointing thing from my point of view was we didn't go for the jugular and try and make it more."

McClean was dismissed for a late lunge on Smith, just 10 seconds after the pair were involved in a 50-50 tackle, while Rondon walked for pushing his head into Dan Gosling.

But boss Tony Pulis hit out at referee Mike Dean after he gave the Cherries' late penalty, despite contact between Darren Fletcher and Gosling starting outside the box, following Gareth McAuley's equaliser.

He said: "I think everybody can see it's outside the box. It's really disappointing, you can't be giving big decision unless you're absolutely 100 per cent sure. He's an experienced referee and it's very disappointing.

"The reaction of the players when Mike Dean gives the penalty, they were absolutely distraught. It's not a penalty. We've worked very hard second half with ten men."

Pulis, though, refused to defend McClean and Rondon who are now banned for three games.

He added: "It's a reckless challenge from McClean. The disappointing thing for me is that 10 seconds before that Smith goes over top and catches McClean on his ankle. McClean has not let that go, he has gone after him. You can't condone that."

"Rondon can't do things like that. He's never had any inkling he's got something like that in him since he's joined us. That's the first time we've seen him react like that."
