Cherries: Vote for your player of the season

23 April 2010 03:03
HOLDER Jason Pearce has all but written off his chances of being named AFC Bournemouth supporters' player of the year - and is predicting a hotly-contested vote.

Combative defender Pearce was the overwhelming winner of the prestigious Daily Echo-Micky Cave fans' award 12 months ago.

But with so many candidates having staked a claim for Eddie Howe's charges this season, Pearce believes the final outcome could be a close call.

"It was great to win it last season but I don't expect to win it again," said the 22-year-old. "I won't name names but there are a lot of players this season who have been outstanding.

"It's been a real team effort and it is great that so many players could win it. It shows we've all stuck together and that everyone has performed well. Everyone has played a part."
