Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has strengthened his squad with the signing of Adam Smith. The 19-year-old defender has joined from Tottenham on a one-month loan deal and will go straight into the Cherries squad to face Carlisle on Saturday. "I have been aware of Adam for a long time," Howe told the Bournemouth Daily Echo. "I watched him for the first time in a pre-season friendly about two-and-a-half years ago and he impressed me straight away. "He is someone we have always kept tabs on and we are delighted to bring him here." Smith is an England under-21 international and has previous Football League experience, having spent loan spells with Wycombe and Torquay.
