Cherries Smash Transfer Record

AFC Bournemouth have smahed their transfer record for an incoming player.

AFC Bournemouth have announced that they have captured the signature of Matt Tubbs from Crawley Town, in a deal some sources are reporting to be in the region worth up to £800,000. If true, this would mean that the figure being committed to smashes the amount paid by AFC Bournemouth for Gavin Peacock (£210,000 - source soccerbase.com) who came to Dean Court from Gillingham.

Tubbs has signed a 3.5 year deal which his describes as a "dream move", going on to say: "It wasn't an easy decision, especially considering the success we have had this season and the euphoria of beating Hull in the FA Cup on Saturday. The boys were buzzing, but Bournemouth is a club I have supported since I was kid, I used to come up here and watch the games with my dad at Dean Court. The lure of coming home was a key factor. All my family are down here as are all my best friends so it is brilliant to be back".

Manager Lee Bradbury is quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "It's a fantastic signing for us to sign a player in great form.  He knows the club, it's a club that means a lot to him.  He's a very ambitious player, and he has joined a club that matches his ambitions".
