Cherries have this afternoon completed the signing of Crystal Palace defender Adam Barrett.[LNB] Barrett completed his move to the Seward Stadium on a two-year contract after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.[LNB] The 31-year-old, who played alongside boss Lee Bradbury and fellow new recruit Darryl Flahavan at Southend, is Cherries' third summer signing.[LNB] Barrett, who was also understood to have attracted interest from Notts County, was at the club this morning to put the finishing touches to the transfer when Cherries began their pre-season training.[LNB] His arrival boosts Cherries' central defensive options after skipper Jason Pearce joined Portsmouth earlier this month. Barrett could also be a leading contender to captain Cherries next season.[LNB] FOR MORE ON THIS STORY AND OTHER CHERRIES NEWS, SEE TOMORROW'S DAILY ECHO.[LNB]
