Cherries: Promotion bid still alive roars Feeney
LIAM Feeney says Cherries have pulled up trees to sustain a promotion push and has chopped down suggestions they have blown their chances.[LNB] Feeney has been one of the leading lights this season as Cherries have mounted an unexpected bid to claim a place in the Championship.[LNB] The flying winger has featured in every game and starred as current boss Lee Bradbury enjoyed a 10-match unbeaten start to his tenure.[LNB] Feeney has also been involved as Cherries' attempts to climb a division have faltered during a dispiriting seven-match winless run.[LNB] Cherries will be looking for a change of fortune when they face League One strugglers Notts County at Meadow Lane tomorrow (12.30pm).[LNB] Feeney told the Daily Echo: We have had a blip and it has come at the wrong time of the season. But we are still in the hunt and we know we can achieve something.[LNB] We are only a point adrift and our destiny is in our hands. We just need everybody to stick together and to keep believing in us because we believe in one another.[LNB] Nothing has changed over the past seven games. We have still got the same group of players that went on a 10-match unbeaten run. Despite the results, the majority of our performances have been good.[LNB] There is a fine line between success and failure, as we have found over the past few weeks. We had more than 50 shots against Bristol Rovers and Charlton and scored three goals and got one point. We had about five shots at Plymouth scored twice and got three points.[LNB] We will hold up our hands and admit we have been beaten by the better team in a couple of games but it is rare we don't perform. We just need to keep working hard, keep creating the chances and, hopefully, it will turn for us.[LNB] Cherries will be hoping to heap more misery on County after their midweek reverse at Yeovil saw them create an unwanted club record of eight successive league defeats. The Magpies have endured a turbulent time since beating Cherries to the League Two title last season.[LNB] Feeney added: We have had a good rivalry with them since I have been here. They have had the upper hand this season after beating us in the FA Cup and coming back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 in August.[LNB] At the start of the season, people might have thought it would be County pushing for the play-offs rather than us.[LNB] They are fighting for their lives and will be out to impress a new manager. We are going to have to be on top of our game against them.[LNB]
