Cherries: Point of style from John's Daggers

24 November 2009 07:00
BOSS Eddie Howe is hoping Cherries can combat Dagenham & Redbridge's unique style when they face their fellow League Two high-fliers at Dean Court.[LNB] Daggers have continued to impress under boss John Still after he guided them to eighth place in only their second year in the Football League last season.[LNB] The third-placed Londoners are just three points behind table-topping Cherries having been dislodged from the summit following their 2-1 defeat by Rochdale on Saturday.[LNB] Howe told the Daily Echo: They have done very well this season and have maintained their good form from last season, which is testament to John Still and the job he does.[LNB] He unearths gems from non-league and they have done very well to start the season in such a good manner.[LNB] It will be another very hard game for us because they are a difficult side to play. They like to get the ball forward quickly and put your back four under pressure.[LNB] It works for them and has been very successful.[LNB] Every team you come up against poses a different threat and theirs is well known. But even though it is well known, not many teams can stop it. Their success has been down to that and full credit to them. If it works, which it does for them, then fair play.[LNB] Cherries boast one of the best home records in League Two, while the Daggers have won on the road at Crewe, Burton Albion and Accrington Stanley.[LNB] Howe's troops won their opening five league encounters at Dean Court but have since lost to promotion rivals Chesterfield and Rochdale on home soil.[LNB] You want to win your home games and our home form earlier in the season was outstanding, said Howe.[LNB] We came up against two good sides when perhaps we didn't play as well as we have. But we will be fully focused on trying to put on a performance.[LNB] The result is sometimes in the lap of the gods but we will be looking to continue from the past three away games when our performances have been good. We would like to put on a show like that for our supporters.[LNB] Howe has no fresh injury worries, while Wes Thomas sits out for the Daggers following his red card against Rochdale.[LNB] Cherries: (from) Jalal, Bradbury, Pearce, Garry, Cummings, Feeney, Bartley, Robinson, Hollands, Pitman, Connell, Fletcher, Goulding, Partington, Igoe, McQuoid, Thomas.[LNB] Daggers: (from) Roberts, Ofori-Twumasi, Doe, Antwi, Lockwood, Green, Thurgood, Miller, Gain, Scott, Benson, Tejan-Sie, Demetriou, Ogogo, Nurse, Uddin, Lewington.[LNB]
