Cherries: Point of style for boss Howe

15 October 2010 07:00
EDDIE Howe believes his players have adjusted well to the contrasting styles in League One and admits Cherries are still trying to stamp their own mark on the division.[LNB] Promoted Cherries have made an impressive start since climbing out of the basement with 18 points from five wins and three draws a commendable return from their first 11 games.[LNB] In common with a number of the other early pacesetters, Cherries' home form has been markedly better than their results on the road with Howe's charges currently unbeaten at Dean Court.[LNB] Eighth-placed MK Dons tomorrow's visitors to Dorset boast the best home record in League One and the fourth worst on their travels, having lost four out of five.[LNB] People have tried to work out for years why there is such disparity between home and away records, said Howe. In my opinion, it comes down to the high standard of the league.[LNB] The beauty of this league is that it throws up many different styles of play. Brighton were the best team we have seen so far this season and I know MK Dons will follow a similar line. We have also had teams being a lot more direct against us.[LNB] There are some tough places to go and some intimidating grounds. Teams will very often have different styles for when they are home or away and you have got to react to that.[LNB] It makes it a really good challenge.[LNB] We didn't get it last season because League Two was different and a lot of teams had a simlar way of playing. League One is a lot more diverse.[LNB] We knew it would be a big step coming up a league and, so far, we have reacted pretty well. There are going to be a lot of big tests to come and we will continually have to try to match them.[LNB] It is a great league and one we are really enjoying. The different styles are a challenge and we are also trying to imprint our own style on teams.[LNB] We have watched MK Dons a few times this season and they are a good footballing team. It is going to be another tough match and should be an entertaing spectacle for the supporters.[LNB] Howe welcomes back loan defender Adam Smith following a one-match suspension.[LNB] Cherries: (from) Jalal, Bradbury, Garry, Pearce, Wiggins, Feeney, Robinson, Hollands, Bartley, Pugh, Symes, Smith, Cooper, McQuoid, Taylor, Fletcher, Cummings, Purches, Partington, Stewart.[LNB] Dons: (from) Martin, Woodards, Doumbe, O'Hanlon, Lewington, Guy, Leven, Hamann, Chadwick, Easter, Balanta, Baldock, Chicksen, Carrington, Ibehre, Wilbraham, MacKenzie, Gleeson, Searle.[LNB]
