Cherries: Piper case dismissed

06 November 2009 14:11
LONG-time Cherries benefactor John Piper today saw his civil claim against Dean Court vice-chairman Jeff Mostyn dismissed at Southampton County Court.[LNB] The dispute between the pair centred on a £30,000 loan made by Piper shortly before AFC Bournemouth went into administration in February 2008.[LNB] Piper pursued Mostyn personally for the funds, while the ex-Cherries chairman's defence said the loan was made to the club, so he was not personally liable.[LNB] Sitting at Southampton County Court, Mr Recorder Tyson dismissed Piper's case and also ordered him to cover Mostyn's costs, £25,000 of which are to be paid within 14 days, with the remainder to be assessed if not agreed.[LNB] See Saturday's Echo for a full report.[LNB]
