Cherries: Pearce wants to help Bradbury get role full-time

JASON Pearce says the Cherries squad are determined to play their part in helping Lee Bradbury and Steve Fletcher become the club's next permanent management duo.[LNB] Skipper Pearce, the only ever present this season under former boss Eddie Howe, has hailed the pair's appointments initially on a caretaker basis as brilliant.[LNB] The 23-year-old added: They have got the full backing of everyone in the squad. Keeping things in-house was a great idea. We are doing well and I don't think Bradders and Fletch will change much.[LNB] Bradders as manager will do a great job. I know it was something he had always wanted, although his chance has probably come earlier than he may have expected.[LNB] Fletch is a massive influence around the players and the club so he will be great as a number two. Hopefully, we can do well for them and they will stay on.[LNB] Asked whether drafting in an outsider may have disrupted the squad, Pearce replied: We can only deal with what happens. Personally, I think big changes now could have had an (adverse) effect on the team. We are doing well and the continuity should help.[LNB] We are delighted they have taken over. Now we want to get some good results to help them keep the job permanently. We have got a tough period coming up so are going to have to dig deep and stick together.[LNB] We are going to need some good performances to get some more points on the board. We are backing them both 100 per cent and, hopefully, we can show that on the pitch.[LNB] Pearce will be hoping to lead from the front when Bradbury and Fletcher start their reign with a potentially tricky visit to League One rivals Rochdale tonight (7.45pm).[LNB] Dale boss Keith Hill made an informal enquiry to sign Pearce after the combative defender had played a starring role in last season's 0-0 draw at Spotland.[LNB] Bradbury will take a watching brief from the dugout, while Fletcher could be in contention to start. Cherries also welcome back striker Michael Symes, who was forced off the bench at Colchester on Friday due to sickness.[LNB]
