Cherries: Pearce hoping for better Withdean experience
SKIPPER Jason Pearce is aiming to banish the memory of his last visit to Withdean as Cherries bid to secure a rare Sussex success.[LNB] Pearce is one of just five current players to have featured the last time Cherries played at Brighton, when an Alex Revell hat-trick condemned them to a last-gasp 3-2 defeat.[LNB] That result stretched the club's winless run on visits to Brighton to 22 years, with their last victory there coming courtesy of a 2-1 triumph in 1988.[LNB] This season, though, Cherries go into the game after a fine start to life back in League One and captain Pearce is keen not to taste disappointment on this latest trip to face Albion.[LNB] When asked about the 3-2 defeat at Withdean in January 2008, he told the Echo: It's still in the back of the mind, so I want to put that right.[LNB] You always remember the results and the disappointment and how you felt after the game.[LNB] I don't want to feel like that again.[LNB] I'll be making sure I tell the boys to make sure they are at it and make sure we are all at it as a team, and we go there and give it a good go.[LNB] The centre-half believes Cherries go into today's Sky Sports-televised match, which kicks off at 12.15pm, under no pressure.[LNB] He added: We've got to go there and play our football, like we have done for most of this season.[LNB] It's going to be a tough game they're a very good team but I feel we've got the players in the dressing room to go there and give them a good game and try to get some points.[LNB]
