Cherries Need To Be More Ruthless - Pugh

Winger Marc Pugh speaks about the need for the Cherries to be more ruthless as they adjust to life in the Championship.

With the Cherries letting slip some silly goals, Marc Pugh is calling on his colleagues to be more ruthless to cut out some of the silly mistakes that is costing the Cherries dear.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo Pugh is quoted as saying: "You defend as a team and it’s not necessarily about defenders making errors. If the ball comes into midfield or up to the strikers we need to make it stick. That has been our downfall really. We were really frustrated at half time (against Blackburn) because we gave away the ball too cheaply all over the park and it set them up to put us under a lot of pressure. During the first few minutes we looked quite lively but as soon as they got the goal it deflated us and a lot of the goals we have conceded this season have come from giving possession away. It was a much better performance in the second half and we were slightly the better team after the break. They were a still a threat because we were more open with 10 men but we should take a lot of confidence from the way we played. Scoring goals hasn’t been a problem for us, we just need to tighten up all over the pitch and make life more difficult for the opposition".
