Cherries: Moles ready to step in

MARK Molesley successfully completed the latest stage of his comeback mission and then told Cherries boss Lee Bradbury: I'm ready if you need me.[LNB] The inspirational midfielder, sidelined for 15 months due to a persistent foot problem, came through a second gruelling run-out for the reserves in midweek.[LNB] He turned in a typically combative and industrious display during a 1-1 draw with Forest Green Rovers before a bout of cramp forced him off just four minutes from time.[LNB] Molesley, whose last 90-minute appearance came at Torquay in September 2009, could be in contention for a place on the bench when Cherries visit Walsall tomorrow (3pm).[LNB] He told the Daily Echo: The reserve game was another good exercise for me. I was a bit frustrated I had to come off but the idea was to have at least 75 minutes so I managed that.[LNB] My foot has been fine and I haven't thought about it during the two games. I feel at my most comfortable during the heat of battle and it tends to only really bother me when I'm walking around the house. Once I'm warmed up and training, I don't feel it.[LNB] I was hoping to get 90 minutes against Forest Green and feel a million dollars. But the rest of my body was always going to start feeling the effects of a match after 15 months out. I would like to get a few more games under my belt but am sure I could do a job on the bench, if called upon.[LNB] Molesley's return would give Bradbury another option in midfield following Marvin Bartley's departure to Burnley.[LNB] The 29-year-old, a late arrival into the pro ranks from non-league, was a key figure as Cherries escaped relegation to the Conference before being restricted to just 10 appearances in last season's promotion.[LNB] I know I am going to have to bide my time because the boys are doing so well, said Molesley.[LNB] I am under no illusions that I will have to be bigger, stronger and better than ever because I will be coming back to a higher standard.[LNB] I hope I've had my fair share of bad luck in the game. I don't want to harp on but it can be a cruel game and you've got to be mentally strong.[LNB] I have lived the dream since I came to Bournemouth and it took a lot of hard work to get here.[LNB] Bradders and Fletch have come in and steadied the ship. With all that has gone on, the wheels could have well and truly fallen off but they certainly haven't. The boys are 100 per cent behind them and these are exciting times for the club.[LNB]
