CHAIRMAN Eddie Mitchell has this afternoon played down fresh speculation linking star striker Brett Pitman with a move away from Dean Court.[LNB] Mitchell confirmed the club had received no bids for the talented frontman - or any other players - after reports suggested he could be a target for Blackpool.[LNB] The Premier League new boys were today linked with a potential £700,000 swoop for 22-year-old Pitman, whose reputation rose after his prolific goalscoring led Cherries to promotion last season.[LNB] Jerseyman Pitman is also rumoured to have caught the eye of Championship sides Reading and Bristol City, while Peterborough United showed an interest last term.[LNB] But when asked whether there was any truth in the latest transfer talk, Mitchell told the Echo: "Not that I know of.[LNB] "We've not had an approach by them that I know of - and I'm sure I would have known.[LNB] "No, there's no truth in that at all at the moment."[LNB]
