Cherries: Mitchell confirms duo in pole position for jobs

EDDIE Mitchell says caretaker duo Lee Bradbury and Steve Fletcher are the main contenders to take permanent charge at Dean Court.[LNB] The Cherries chairman saw the pair stake their claim by gaining the first victory of their reign on Saturday an excellent 1-0 win over Brighton.[LNB] A capacity crowd at Dean Court watched the hosts topple the League One leaders thanks to a superb second-half strike from Liam Feeney.[LNB] Mitchell was delighted with the result, which followed a 0-0 draw at Rochdale in boss Bradbury's opening match at the helm.[LNB] He initially appointed the caretakers for three or four games following Eddie Howe's departure to Burnley and is still to make a final decision on the vacancy as he plans to give them time to learn the role.[LNB] But Mitchell admitted Bradbury and player-assistant Fletcher had improved their chances of succeeding Howe permanently by masterminding victory against Albion.[LNB] He told the Echo: We couldn't have wished for a better day. It certainly hasn't done them any harm, let's put it that way.[LNB] As it is at the moment, they are doing a great job and have got to be the main contenders.[LNB] We're not going to rush into anything. But, certainly, with the way the boys are playing and the way they are being managed, we couldn't ask for anything better.[LNB] Bradders was there at 9am on Saturday. That's the type of thing I'm looking for hard work and enjoyment.[LNB] He added: What a club to be in charge of. At the moment, it is unbelievable and we are a fantastic team.[LNB]
