Cherries: Miracle man Marv pleases Howe

Cherries boss Eddie Howe has paid tribute to the recovery powers of miracle man Marvin Bartley.[LNB] The quick-healing midfielder shook off the effects of a badly bruised calf to play a pivotal role in Cherries' 2-1 win over Notts County on Tuesday.[LNB] And although Bartley was substituted with 15 minutes remaining, his inclusion had been in doubt right up until the 11th hour.[LNB] Howe told the Daily Echo: He improved quickly. He was still a doubt in the morning but passed himself fit. He said he was okay and we were delighted he was able to play and put in such a good performance.[LNB] Marvin has shown a good attitude. He has had to be patient because other players had the first run on him. He is performing in the right way and is improving so the signs are positive both for him and us.[LNB] Howe added: All the lads to a man have been outstanding with respect to playing when not 100 per cent and playing out of position. As I've said in the past, we would never ask anyone to risk doing any serious damage.[LNB] Manager Howe was also delighted to see his squad come through relatively unscathed following a punishing schedule of four games in 11 days.[LNB] It's been a hectic spell, said Howe. In some senses, we would rather not have games Saturday-Tuesday because you do worry about injuries disrupting you.[LNB] But we have come through with only minor disruption and the lads have performed really well in the four games. I include Cheltenham because that wasn't an easy game. In some ways, the point we got against them looks a really good one after the result against Notts County. We're in a good position.[LNB]
