Cherries: Marvin hoping to grab his chance

FORGOTTEN man Marvin Bartley is hoping to get his chance in Cherries depleted midfield after admitting his relief at escaping injury in the heated clash against Rochdale.[LNB] The combative midfielder was left in a heap by Nathan Stanton as the Dale defender saw red for a reckless lunge in the 82nd minute of Saturdays clash.[LNB] Fortunately for Cherries, whose resources are already stretched, Bartley emerged from the incident unscathed and reported fit for training on Monday.[LNB] And the former non-league star, who has seen his opportunities restricted this term due to injuries and Cherries fine form, is keen to force his way into Eddie Howes plans.[LNB] With the news that Mark Molesley is to join fellow midfielders Sammy Igoe, Joe Partington and Shaun Cooper on the injury list, Bartley is one option available to the Cherries boss.[LNB] He told the Echo: The boys have been doing well and, even though we lost 4-0, I dont know if Eddie will change it.[LNB] Hopefully I will get my chance again soon because Im itching to play again.[LNB] With me being injured and the team winning all the time its been difficult for me to get an opportunity.[LNB] But you have to believe in yourself and believe that if you do get a chance youll be able to take it.[LNB] Thats the way I feel about things but Ill have to wait and see what Eddie does.[LNB] Asked whether he was okay following Stantons X-rated challenge, Bartley added: Its a bit sore. Luckily my foot wasnt planted, otherwise it couldve been a different story.[LNB]
