Cherries: Loan duo increase Borough stays

EDDIE Howe has given his blessing to Joe Partington and Mitchell Nelson extending their respective loan spells with Eastbourne Borough.[LNB] The pair will remain with the Conference outfit at least until the start of January, although Cherries will have a 24-hour recall on both.[LNB] Midfielder Partington and defender Nelson have experienced fluctuating fortunes since joining Boro at the end of last month. Both made their debuts in a 2-2 draw at Grimsby before Nelson sustained ankle ligament damage during a 0-0 stalemate against Forest Green, which has since kept him on the sidelines.[LNB] Partington was then sent off for collecting two bookings during a 0-0 draw with Newport County and subsequently picked up a one-match suspension, ruling him out of Boro's trip to Kiddermin-ster Harriers 10 days ago.[LNB] The Welsh under-21 international, who captained his country to a 1-0 win over Austria on Novem-ber 17, will tonight be hoping to return to action when Boro travel to Hayes & Yeading.[LNB] Cherries boss Howe said: It is better for them to stay with Eastbourne and play games than to come back here to sit on the bench. We are happy for them to remain there on the proviso that we can bring them back at short notice.[LNB] Meanwhile, Cherries have named a relatively inexperienced squad for today's Football Combination clash at Torquay.[LNB]
