Cherries: Injury woe for 'mystery man' Guyett

LUCKLESS Scottie Guyett's injury-plagued season has suffered another major setback with the imposing central defender likely to be sidelined for at least a month.[LNB] Guyett is today revealed as the mystery man whose injury boss Eddie Howe was keen to keep under wraps until after the Cherries team-sheet had been submitted for today's showdown with Crewe.[LNB] The Aussie, who turned 34 earlier this month, was referred to a specialist after his right knee swelled badly as he took part in a series of running drills following Cherries' defeat at Aldershot seven days ago.[LNB] Guyett had an exploratory scan in midweek before yesterday heading to London for a follow-up appointment with a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who drained the joint in an attempt to relieve the swelling.[LNB] And although he is expected to discover early next week whether the injection has remedied the problem, his recovery period would still be around four weeks.[LNB] However, should his knee fail to respond, Guyett would need to go under the knife at the end of next week, with surgery likely to rule him out until the middle of March.[LNB] Guyett had only just returned following a three-month layoff after having an operation to cure cartilage damage to his left knee in early October.[LNB]
