Cherries: Ings nominated for monthly award

RISING star Danny Ings has been nominated for the April League One player-of-the-month award.[LNB] The homegrown striker has emerged as an important player for Cherries this season in his first year in the professional ranks.[LNB] Ings, 18, has defied his lack of experience at senior level to produce a series of impressive performances.[LNB] A key player under Lee Bradbury, he has scored seven league goals in 26 appearances this term, 21 of which have come in the starting line-up.[LNB] He will do battle for the gong with fellow frontmen Ashley Barnes (Brighton), Neil Mellor (Sheffield Wednesday) and Craig Mackail-Smith (Peterborough United). The winner will be announced tomorrow.[LNB]
