Cherries: Howe's future as Cherries boss in the balance

EDDIE Howe's future as Cherries boss was tonight hanging in the balance.[LNB] Howe and assistant Jason Tindall met with Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell this afternoon where it is understood Mitchell offered the duo new contracts following formal approaches for their services from both Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic.[LNB] Howe and Tindall are understood to have turned down an initial offer from Palace, while Echo sources claim the pair held lengthy talks at Charlton's Valley headquarters last night.[LNB] BBC Radio Solent, meanwhile, reported earlier today that Palace had come back with a second offer for the duo.[LNB] Howe and Tindall gave reporters the slip at Dean Court earlier following their meeting with Mitchell, but Howe did make contact with the Echo's Neil Perrett, telling our man that he would inform Mitchell of his decision later this evening.[LNB] Mitchell told reporters that Howe had not resigned and confirmed he was expecting a decision from the manager this evening.[LNB] For the latest news on Howe's future, follow the Echo's live blog by clicking here .[LNB]
