Cherries: Howe to limit loans for team spirit

EDDIE Howe will try to resist the temptation to rely too heavily on the loan market next season - even though promotion has made Cherries a more attractive proposition for players.[LNB] An ongoing transfer embargo restricted boss Howe to just three emergency recruits this season.[LNB] One of those Rhoys Wiggins proved instrumental to their success during the final three months of the campaign.[LNB] But while the loosening of the ban will allow Howe to deal more freely in the transfer market, he says he will be reluctant to overload his squad with temporary signings.[LNB] Howe told the Daily Echo: We haven't used the loan market too much this season because of constraints but, hopefully, we should have full use of it next season.[LNB] We will probably have more players available to us because we have gone up a league and we are more attractive to say Premier League players who will be looking to gain some experience so that will be of use to us.[LNB] But if you try to learn from your experiences, the loan market isn't something we would want to use too often.[LNB] Trying to keep your numbers low and using a core squad of contracted players is definitely the way I would prefer to go. You get the team spirit and togetherness because all the players are with you from the start of the season.[LNB] While his hands were severely tied by Cherries' transfer embargo, Howe also had a couple of knock backs from potential loan signings due to the club being in the basement division.[LNB] But with League One football on the agenda at Dean Court next season, Howe's options could be far greater should he decide to delve into the loan market.[LNB] Howe said: It wasn't so much the clubs, it was more the players and their agents.[LNB] They look at which league you are in and think they can get a League One or Championship club so tend not to look at you too favourably.[LNB] Now we are a League One club, we will appeal to more players and they may look at the situation differently. But it will be up to us if we are going to go down that route to identify the right players and see how we go.[LNB]
