Cherries: Howe may be forced to make changes

MANAGER Eddie Howe has ruled out the possibility of major changes as Cherries aim to get back to winning ways against Crewe Alexandra tomorrow. Howes men suffered their first League Two defeat of the campaign at Northampton Town last weekend. But despite the 2-0 loss, the Cherries boss was not disappointed by his teams performance - and he sees no reason to change things ahead of Crewes visit to Dean Court (3pm). Discussing the Sixfields setback, he said: As usual we watched the DVD of the game and it was a mixture of emotions probably frustration more than anything. On reflection, I thought we were the better side and we created a number of chances and, on another day, we would have won the game. Its a little bit of frustration that we lost our unbeaten record and missed out on a really good opportunity to continue our good start. The pleasing thing is going away from home and having 18 shots. That in itself although I know it is a stat in isolation shows that we were on top and it shows that we must be doing something right to have 18 attempts at their goal. However, Howe may be forced to alter his teams personnel, with key men Liam Feeney and Steve Fletcher injury doubts after being unable to take part in training so far this week. Were hopeful about the pair of them, he revealed. But they still havent trained this week and didnt train yesterday, so well maybe have a look at them today. Thats a negative to take out of the game when we could, potentially, lose two players who have done really well for us this season. It may give an opportunity to a couple of other players and thats what the game is all about. Theyve been waiting patiently and it will give us a chance to maybe tinker with things. Crewe will pose a difficult test for Cherries, having enjoyed an identical points return of nine from their opening four fixtures. I think theyre a strong, powerful side with a lot of legs in their side, so it will be a good test for us and Im hopeful we can bounce back, said Howe. Well be well prepared for them as we always are. Weve started the season well at home and a big factor in that (continuing) will be the fans really getting behind us theyve been excellent in the two home games so far. Even when we havent been totally on top, they have really stuck with us. If they can make as much noise as possible and be really supportive to the boys, no matter how the game goes, it can only help us.
