CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe has spoken of his huge admiration for star central defensive duo Ryan Garry and Jason Pearce after describing the in-form pair as role models.[LNB] The team's push for League Two promotion this season has been built on solid foundations with centre-halves Garry and Pearce forming part of what has become a highly-impressive defensive unit.[LNB] And Howe has revealed the secret to the pair's success.[LNB] The Dean Court chief insists the professional nature of his defensive linchpins holds the key to their consistent performances.[LNB] He told the Echo: Ryan's form, along with Jason Pearce's, has been very consistent.[LNB] They both work very hard at their games and always stay after training and work on various aspects of their game. It's that desire to improve which is fundamental to their performances.[LNB] I think they are role models for all the other players to look at how they conduct themselves on and off the pitch.[LNB] With their attitude to training and preparation for games, you can see the detail they go into, like what they eat and what they drink.[LNB] A bowl of pasta is never too far away and everything they do is by the book.[LNB] When you have good professionals like that you want them to be successful because they deserve it.[LNB] They are getting rewards for how they live their everyday lives.[LNB] Howe encouraged young players rising through the Dean Court ranks to follow in the footsteps of Garry and Pearce. He said: They are an example to the others and the younger players coming through.[LNB] Asked whether being products of academies at Arsenal and Portsmouth, respectively, had a bearing on their approach, Howe added: Both show the right attitude not because of where they have been but because of how they are as people.[LNB] The influential pair have been in the wars in recent weeks, with Garry sustaining a broken nose at Barnet and Pearce suffering a cut and bruised eye against Notts County and Barnet.[LNB] But both are expected to take their places in the starting line-up for tomorrow's League Two clash at Morecambe.[LNB] Howe is expecting a stern test against Sammy McIlroy's men, who boast an impressive record of six consecutive league victories, with top scorer Phil Jevons catching the eye with 12 league goals.[LNB] Six league wins in a row for anybody is a really good statistic, said Howe.[LNB] I think they've got some good players and Morecambe is always a difficult place to go, so it's going to be a really tough game.[LNB] They've been scoring a lot of goals and they've been sharing them around.[LNB] They've got Phil Jevons who has been around for a long time and he is on a good run.[LNB] Mullin up front is pretty similar to Fletch, so they are a good pair.[LNB] They've got goals in the rest of the side as well, so they are a decent side, but so are we.[LNB] Our away form has been good and let's hope we can continue that.[LNB]
