Cherries: Howe focused on Argyle visit
Eddie Howe has pledged his 100 per cent commitment to Cherries in the face of mounting speculation over his future.[LNB] Howe was this week linked with the vacant manager's position at Crystal Palace, with the Championship outfit already understood to have made a formal approach to speak to him.[LNB] The 33-year-old played his cards close to his chest when probed on the subject yesterday, while Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell also politely declined to comment when contacted by the Daily Echo.[LNB] Howe, speaking to the media ahead of tomorrow's League One showdown with Plymouth Argyle at Dean Court, said: All we are concentrating on is the game. We've just got to focus on what's important. The lads are very professional. We've seen speculation like this with players and I don't see it being a massive problem for them.[LNB] I don't think it's ideal before a game that this type of thing comes out but we've got a job to do and we'd love to carry on our good form.[LNB] If you are being linked with other jobs, it means the team are performing well and I want the team to perform well and to stay where we are in the league. It has to be a positive. We want continued success here and the two go hand in hand.[LNB] It's business as usual for everybody. We won't change our preparation or our attitude. We will be 100 per cent committed to Bournemouth, like we always have been, and that will never change while I'm here. Our supporters can rest assured that will be the case and we are focusing on trying to get another three points.[LNB] The players have been absolutely magnificent and I've always said they deserve the praise because they play and earn the points. I'm very lucky to have a good team behind me and I'm very thankful to them for everything they've given me during my time in charge.[LNB] Howe added: I have a fantastic relationship with the players, the staff and the supporters. My relationship with the supporters has always been a special one and that will never change.[LNB] Cherries defender Rhoys Wiggins, who progressed through the ranks at Palace, told the Daily Echo: We've all seen the speculation and the lads do talk about it. But it's only speculation at the moment and we've just got to carry on with the job in hand.[LNB] None of us would want to see Eddie and Jason leave.[LNB] ¢ Cherries are running the rule over Dutch striker Samir El Gaaouiri.[LNB] The 26-year-old joined Eddie Howe's squad in training at Canford School yesterday.[LNB] El Gaaouiri started his career with Fortuna Sittard before joining FC Utrecht. His most recent club was Belgian outfit Roeselare.[LNB]
