Cherries: Howe delighted for Wiggins

BOSS Eddie Howe is delighted that Cherries have a representative on the full international stage and he believes it will be a great experience for Rhoys Wiggins.[LNB] Wiggins was drafted into the Wales squad over the weekend and could make his senior debut tonight in Basle.[LNB] Signed from Norwich City in the summer, the talented left-back has seen his Cherries form rewarded with a call up for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Switzerland.[LNB] With fellow defenders Sam Ricketts and Chris Gunter both suspended, Wales may opt to give Wiggins his opportunity.[LNB] Howe told the Echo: I think it's reward for Rhoys's consistent displays this season.[LNB] He's still very young and he's still improving, but we're delighted with his form this season and I think he can only get better.[LNB] From the club point of view, we're just delighted to have someone involved in the international set-up.[LNB] Wiggins has plenty of experience in junior internationals, having been capped 16 times at under-21 and under-19 level.[LNB] ¢ Cherries' under-18s have progressed to the knockout stages of the Puma Youth Alliance Cup.[LNB] They face an away tie at Northampton Town later this month after a 1-1 draw at Oxford United on Saturday, October 2 secured a top-three spot in their group.[LNB]
