With new investment behind the Club, Chairman Eddie Mitchell has come out and stated that he wants to see AFC Bournemouth in the 2nd tier of English football.

Cherries Chairman, Eddie Mitchell, has come out publically to state that he wants to see AFC Bournemouth in the Championship for the first time since dropping out of English footballs 2nd tier since the 1989/90 season.

Speaking on the BBC web site, Mitchell is quoted as saying: "It's the first real time I've been in a partnership. I think it is probably healthier having a 50-50 partnership because the minority is not heard when there is an uneven split. We've both got the desire to go forward, both got the energy to put into the club and both want to see the club progress so we see no problem in the future in agreeing on certain things".

Mitchell is also quoted as saying that the Clubs needs significant investment to take the Club to the higher level, promising that funds will be made available to make it happen.
