Cherries: Guyett glad to answer SOS call

Cherries' emergency man Scott Guyett admitted the speed of his comeback from injury took him by surprise.[LNB] Central defender Guyett had been sidelined since undergoing knee surgery in October.[LNB] But he was called upon to start for Cherries at Cheltenham on Boxing Day and shrugged off any rustiness to turn in an assured performance.[LNB] Guyett revealed he did not know until the last minute that he would be in the team to face the Robins, but he got the call-up with Lee Bradbury suffering from food poisoning.[LNB] I didn't find out until the morning of the game, about pre-match time, he said.[LNB] I got wind that Lee Bradbury was sick over Christmas and Eddie said he was going to play me at right-back.[LNB] It was a bit surprising but I always try to prepare as if I'm playing anyway, so I was confident I could come in.[LNB] Guyett is no stranger to rescuing Cherries from such situations, having done the same thing on the opening day of the season at Bury following a lengthy lay-off.[LNB] It doesn't happen very often then, in one season, it happens twice, he said.[LNB] At Bury, I had been out with the shoulder injury and was called to play and the same thing happened against Cheltenham.[LNB] But the knee has been feeling really good. It is nine weeks since I had the operation and I had trained for a week leading up to the Cheltenham game.[LNB] I try to look after myself as best I can and the only question mark was whether my knee was up to it and, thankfully, it was, added Guyett.[LNB] The former Yeovil Town defender, signed by Kevin Bond in July 2008, added: At this stage of the season, when games come thick and fast, Eddie is going to have to call upon everyone in the squad to make a contribution.[LNB] We've got a small squad anyway and when we are playing two games in three days and then a game this weekend against Northampton, he is going to have to ask for a contribution from everyone.[LNB]
