The Swindon Town Chairman, Jeremy Wray, is quoted in the Wiltshire press as saying: "The figure may appear large on the surface but things are not always as they seem underneath. Added together, the offer fell way short of our valuation".

Meanwhile, at Dean Court, director Tom Mitchell is quoted as saying on the Clubs Official Web Site: "As the supporters are aware, we are looking to add quality players to the squad but we decided, after having our latest bid rejected by Swindon Town, that it’s now time to draw a line under that one and move on.
