Cherries: Eddie wary of fixture pile-up
BOSS Eddie Howe is keen to avoid a fixture pile-up following Cherries' fourth postponement in the space of 21 days.[LNB] Cherries' scheduled trip to Rochdale on Saturday was called off as early as Friday morning due to a frozen pitch at Spotland.[LNB] It followed the twice postponed FA Cup second round tie at Notts County and an aborted League One clash at Bristol Rovers.[LNB] Coupled with next month's visit of Sheffield Wednesday having to be rearranged due to their involvement in the FA Cup, the recent cold snap has left Cherries with no fewer than three league matches to slot in to the second-half of the season.[LNB] Plans to reschedule the trip to Bristol Rovers for Saturday, January 8 FA Cup third round day have been put on hold following the departure of Pirates boss Paul Trollope last week.[LNB] And the club is still working on new dates for the rearranged visit to Rochdale and the Dean Court encounter with Sheffield Wednesday.[LNB] Howe said: It is difficult because some teams are still in the FA Cup and a lot of others are also trying to arrange games as so many have been postponed.[LNB] We will get them all in but we don't want them too close together because we could end up with a nightmare month and that would not be ideal for anybody.[LNB] Hopefully, we can spread them out a little just to try to make sure our workload isn't too crazy in January.[LNB]
