Cherries: Eddie and the boys have done their bit - now it's your turn

THEY have laughed in the face of adversity to stand proudly on the verge of promotion and now Cherries deserve your help in leaping the final hurdles.[LNB] With five games of an absorbing season remaining, the Daily Echo is calling on the people of Bournemouth to cheer Eddie Howe's boys to League Two glory.[LNB] One of the most remarkable stories in AFC Bournemouth's long and chequered history is taking place and you can play a part.[LNB] After a campaign in which on-field triumphs have put off-field issues in the shade, the final push is upon us.[LNB] With tonight's home game against Hereford United due to be followed by another versus Darlington on Saturday, Cherries have a huge chance of closing in on an achievement few would have predicted prior to the season.[LNB] Relegation strugglers last season, the south coast side have been transformed into top-of-the-table stars, under the guidance of up-and-coming boss Howe.[LNB] Hindered by a transfer embargo, constant money worries and a wafer-thin squad, Cherries have put the problems to one side to move tantalisingly close to potentially joining the likes of Southampton, Leeds United and Charlton Athletic in League One.[LNB] With work still to do to complete a Herculean effort and move up the Football League ladder, a bumper crowd this evening could be key to kick-starting the push.[LNB] As Howe explained, spectators have an important role.[LNB] We'd love the next two games to be sell-outs because it would definitely help the boys in what are going to be two tough games, he said.[LNB] We need everyone in Bournemouth not to think that's it, Bournemouth are up and with two home games coming up it should be looking good'.[LNB] They are going to be difficult games and we need the fans to be right with us.[LNB] Hopefully, they can carry us over the line.[LNB] Cherries have moved to within sight of League One thanks partly to an exciting brand of football that has been pleasing on the eye and largely out of place in a physical, often scrappy league.[LNB] For their style of play and for all the difficulties faced by the club's staff and supporters in the recent past, promotion would be a fitting reward.[LNB] And with the fairytale story entering its final chapter, turn up tonight to help ensure this page-turning best seller has a happy ending.[LNB] Howe's boys have done their bit.
