Cherries: Dad Pugh dedicates goal to baby Halle
PROUD father Marc Pugh dedicated to his new daughter his opening goal for Cherries against Charlton.[LNB] Pugh's close-range header quickly cancelled out Scott Wagstaff's first-half goal for the Addicks during the 2-2 draw at Dean Court on Saturday.[LNB] Leading goalscorer Pugh, who became a father for the first time on St Patrick's Day, registered his 13th of the season and ended a 10-match personal drought.[LNB] He said: Becoming a father has changed me completely. It was great to score for Halle, I love her to bits. It is a great time for me and my wife Laura and I believe it will inspire me to do even better because I have got a family to support and want to do what is best for them.[LNB] Pugh, who also went close to bagging a dramatic winner, added: We were gutted and lost for words at the end. We had enough chances to win three games, never mind one. But if we keep playing like that, we will be there or thereabouts at the end of season and pushing for the top two. We played so well and it shows how far we have come that we were disappointed not to have beaten Charlton. We had lots of chances at the end and dominated throughout.[LNB] We won our individual battles and our work-rate and desire were top-notch. It was great to score. I have been feeling really sharp in the past two to three weeks. I feel like I am getting back to my best after my injury.[LNB] I scored 13 last season for Hereford and am always looking to better myself. I am also in a higher league this season so am really chuffed to have scored 13. Now I want to get four or five more. If I have a good run, I believe I can get between 17 and 20. It might be unlucky for some, but 13 is one of mine and Laura's lucky numbers![LNB]
