Cherries: Bradders impressed with Byrne

BOSS Lee Bradbury said he had been impressed with the performance of new loan signing Nathan Byrne during Cherries' pre-season friendly victory over Crystal Palace.[LNB] The 19-year-old defender, who last week joined Cherries from Spurs on a season-long deal, helped Bradbury's men record a 3-1 win over the Eagles at the Seward Stadium.[LNB] Bradbury said: I thought he did very well. We had watched him in a couple of reserve games but it is not the same.[LNB] He is quick and attacking and can defend as well. He is sharp in the tackle and stronger than people give him credit for. I think he is going to be a really good addition to the squad.[LNB] Cherries, who have also beaten Cardiff during their warm-up campaign, toppled Palace thanks to efforts from Adam Barrett and Lyle Taylor and a comical own goal from Maxim Brillault. Sean Scannell replied for the Eagles.[LNB] Bradbury said: Palace have apparently still got a bit of work to do in the transfer market so probably wouldn't have been at full strength. But there is no taking away from us that we have beaten another Championship team.[LNB] Pre-season has gone well and fitness levels are right up where they should be at this time of the season. We are excited about the season.[LNB] Cherries: Jalal (Flahavan, h-t), Byrne (Purches, 79), Malone (Cummings, 79), Cooper (Nelson, 87), Barrett, Feeney, Pugh, Gregory, Molesley (Baudry, 64), Ings (Taylor, 74), Symes (Lovell, 15, Fletcher, 79).[LNB] Eagles: Speroni, Clyne (Scannell, 15), Wright (Zaha, 64), Parr, McCarthy (Parsons, 78), Ambrose (Williams, 86), Garvan, Brillault, Murray, Easter, Moxey (Dorman, 64).[LNB] Attendance: 2,977 (including 726 away supporters).[LNB] Referee: James Linington (Newport, IoW).[LNB] Bradbury is set to field a strong team when Cherries complete their friendly programme at Dorchester Town tonight (7.45pm).[LNB]
