Cherries: Bottom place means nothing to Howe

Cherries boss Eddie Howe says he is reading nothing into Darlingtons lowly league position and is preparing his troops for a potentially dangerous assignment.[LNB] Howe will return to the scene of his managerial debut when his League Two table-toppers face the bottom-placed Quakers at the Darlington Arena tomorrow (3pm).[LNB] Colin Todds strugglers have collected a solitary point from their opening seven games, while Cherries head to the North East on the back of six wins and a defeat.[LNB] Todd this week bolstered his resources with a couple of loan signings, drafting in vastly-experienced goalkeeper Russell Hoult and teenage winger Jamie Devitt from Hull.[LNB] Howe told the Daily Echo: A top-versus-bottom clash is a new experience for us and can only be a positive one.[LNB] Darlington are going to be a dangerous side. They have brought in a couple of new players and that always freshens things up.[LNB] With their manager and coaching staff, they will pick up results sooner rather than later and we want to make sure they dont start against us.[LNB] It always takes time to gel when you are forced to make a lot of changes in personnel. They will be determined to get a positive result so we need to make sure we dont get sloppy and continue to show the same attitude that has served us well this season.[LNB] Despite watching Cherries suffer a 2-1 defeat at the Darlington Arena in his first game after taking over from Jimmy Quinn in January, Howe believes his players benefited from the experience.[LNB] It was a bitter-sweet day, said Howe. I thought we performed pretty well and it was a real sickener to concede two late goals. There was a feeling of huge disappointment after the game.[LNB] But we used that disappointment to stay up in the end. It was a good experience because, in some ways, it set the marker. We worked very hard and were unfortunate to come away with nothing. We are certainly going to have to match those work-rate levels again.[LNB] Although the Quakers have averaged crowds of fewer than 2,000 in their impressive 25,000 all-seater stadium this season, Howe knows the home supporters will be a partisan bunch.[LNB] He said: Im sure their supporters will get behind them and will turn out to give them the support they need.[LNB] From our point of view, you want to use it (a low crowd) to your advantage. Hopefully, if we can start well and be on top, then that may work in our favour. We will be prepared and have done our homework. We just want to keep the run going.[LNB] Cherries: (from) Jalal, Bradbury, Pearce, Garry, Cummings, Feeney, Molesley, Robinson, Igoe, Fletcher, Pitman, Hollands, Guyett, McQuoid, Connell, Partington, Webb, Thomas.[LNB] Darlington: (from) Knight, Bower, Plummer, Miller, Bains, Smith, Smith, Convery, Chandler, Dowson, Gall, Cook, Porritt, Windass, Liversedge, Foster, Bennett, Groves, Devitt, Hoult.[LNB]
